Frank became a padrone, heading a crew of Italian workers on the
Bangor and Aroostook Railroad in Canada, while his uncle and cousins
became laborers in Providence. Once they had earned enough money,
they sent to Italy for their respective families. Anna and Laura
Tirocchi with their sister Eugenia and her husband Luigi Valcarenghi
were living in Providence by 1907. By 1914, the others had assembled
their families here.
