Guarcino
Anna and Laura Tirocchi were born in Italy at the end of the nineteenth
century. Guarcino, the small town from which they came, is located
some miles east of Rome in the foothills of the mountains that form
the central spine of the Italian peninsula. A small, rural village,
it had no railway connection with the outside world until the 1930s,
long after the Tirocchi sisters had left for America.
