Rodier was one of the largest French manufacturers of textiles.
This piece, which employs "Persian" motifs, was one of many designs
producted by Rodier just before the Exposition des Arts Décoratifs
et Industriels Modernes, the famous Paris exposition of 1925 whose
name gave rise to the term "Art Deco."
