OBJECTS DATABASE

When the contents of the Tirocchi shop were offered to the RISD Museum, curators and student interns first spent a year making an inventory and brief descriptive worksheet on every item found in the premises. This database contains the information from those worksheets.

The objects have been classified according to broad descriptive categories (dress, ensemble, separates, sportswear, accessories, ornament, jewelry, etc.), that can be used in searching. Keywords in specific fields such as Title, Description, and Material may also be entered as search terms. For instance, beaded dresses may be found by entering 'dress' in the Category field and 'bead' in the Material field or 'beaded' in the Technical Information field.

Check the glossary for definitions of dressmaking terms like 'notion', 'ornament', and 'robe'.
